Knightcote Model Boat Club are having a lifeboat themed open day on the 15th May, from 10am to 4pm to raise funds for the RNLI. This will be similar to the LBES organised events of previous years, but will concentrate on model sailing, with the express purpose of raising funds for the RNLI and providing enjoyment for as many people as possible.
It will be a day mainly for the operating of lifeboats – but not exclusively – (size, scale, nationality is immaterial) with the aim of getting as many boats on the water as possible (This could sort out the good and the indifferent skippers from the downright awful) and maybe give pleasure to many more. There will be an attendance from the local RNLI supporters (with their ‘goodies), a raffle, a couple of light-hearted competitions, a prize for Best Boat on the Water, and an ample supply of food and beverage to satisfy most people. There may be more than that but we are not counting any chickens (or should it be ducklings?) until nearer the date.
There will be members on site from 9.00 a.m. until the last visitor has gone and the water will be available all day (the water has now filled to overflowing following last year’s drought and the overflow is controlled! Club displays will be welcomed, with gazebos and some tables available.
Why not come along and have a great day.
